		<description>This only goes to hhilhiggt the importance of keeping tabs, via APSCU or otherwise, on what regulations the DOE, etc. is trying to foist upon the sector and that our representatives are aware as well.  Just one part of this GE regulation would have mandated &#8220;acceptable&#8221; debt/income ratios for graduates without considering salary ranges in the specific areas, realistic considerations of &#8220;acceptable&#8221; employment areas, etc.  In fact, the GE regulation in regard to this debt-to-income was to be calculated with a formula that DOE had yet to agree upon.Sadly, when you dig into any proponent&#8217;s justification for GE, you will seldom if ever find any support based in fact or even common sense.  A simple question for those in favor of this type of overreaching regulation:  &#8220;If it is such an incredibly important step to take, why are the standards promoted only applicable to those colleges in the proprietary sector?  Do students attending public institutions not deserve the same level of &#8220;protection?&#8221;</description>
